OSCA and ANZSCO code correspondence table

The new Occupation Standard Classification for Australia (OSCA) 2024 v1.0 was released on 06/12/2024 by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). The OSCA is based on a thorough review of the ANZSCO occupational literature and is a statistical occupational classification that is appropriate for Australia and reflects the Australian job market.

The correspondence codes in the table below shows the conceptual relationship between the occupations in OSCA 2024 version 1.0 and ANZSCO 2022. This table illustrates how the classification of jobs has changed and indicates any changes made to suit current economic developments. Visa applicants can use this information to better understand their visa application.

Note: Occupations with a ‘p stand for partial’ in the fourth column (4) indicate partial overlap between OSCA and ANZSCO codes.

OSCA Skill Level Definitions

The Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) defines OSCA Skilled Levels based on educational degrees, formal training, and relevant work experience. The following definitions set the boundaries between OSCA skill levels.

Level 1: Bachelor/Master/PhD
Level 2: Diploma/Advance Diploma/Associate Degree
Level 3: Certificate III/IV
Level 4: Certificate II/III 
Level 5: Certificate I
