Job description
Prepares, interprets, maintains, reviews and negotiates variations to contracts on behalf of an organisation.

Employment
Highly relevant tasks include, but are not limited to:
- developing, reviewing and negotiating variations to contracts
- responding to inquiries and resolving problems concerning contracts
- managing paperwork associated with contracts
- negotiates contract terms with internal and external partners (non-construction context)
- renews and updates existing contracts to maintain the integrity of contract information (non-construction context)
- may prepare tender documentation (non-construction context)
- provides contractual guidance to project manager, site engineers, quality engineers, safety advisors etc., and assists project manager with the preparation of contractual correspondence (construction context)
- prepares monthly Progress Claims for the works carried out (construction context)
Qualification
AQF Diploma or higher qualification. This includes qualifications assessed at AQF Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree, Bachelor, Master and Doctoral level.
Highly relevant major fields of study include:
Non-construction context:
- Law
- Business
- Project Management
Construction context (subsequent employment context must be relevant):
- Construction Management / Construction Economics
- Quantity Surveying
- Civil Engineering / Building relevant discipline which include subjects on Contract Management
Skills Assessment Criteria:
Please note in order to achieve a successful skills assessment outcome, a positive assessment for both qualifications and employment is required.
- Qualification(s) assessed at least AQF Diploma level with a highly relevant field of study and
- at least one year of post qualification highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level in the last five years;
OR
- Qualification(s) assessed at least AQF Diploma level with an additional qualification at least AQF Certificate IV in a highly relevant field of study and
- at least one year of post-qualification highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level in the last five years;
OR
- Qualification(s) assessed at least AQF Diploma level without a highly relevant field of study and
- at least two years of post-qualification highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level in the last five years;
OR Pre-qualification
- if all of your employment is before your qualification assessed at the AQF Diploma level
- three years of highly relevant employment in addition to at least one year of highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level in the last five years.

- Passport and passport photo
- Proof of identity, including a national ID or driver’s license
- qualification certificate and academic transcript.
- employment evidence, including an employment letter, payslips, tax return and superannuation.
Processing Time
The full skills assessment process for this occupation will take between 12 and 20 weeks from the date you submit and pay for the application to VETASSESS. The time it takes to finish depends on how quickly VETASSESS get all of the required documents and any other information from you. Making sure you've given all the necessary documents in the right format will help cut down on the time it takes to process.
What will I get after the assessment?
When your application for a skills assessment is done, the assessing authority will send you an email with a soft copy of the skills assessment outcome letter.
The letter should contain the required skill level outcome, whether your qualification is assessed as comparable to the education level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) or not. Furthermore, it outlines the employment period that you have claimed and whether the evidence that you provided is met or not. If you meet both the qualifications and employment criteria for the skill assessment, you will get a positive result. If you don't, you will get an unsuccessful result.
