Job description
Provides services relating to compliance-based financial reporting, auditing, insolvency and accounting information systems; and advises on associated record-keeping requirements. Registration or licensing may be required for certain services such as auditing.

Job Duties
Highly relevant tasks include, but are not limited to:
- preparing financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies
- conducting financial investigations, preparing reports, undertaking audits and advising on matters such as the purchase and sale of businesses, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency and taxation
- examining operating costs and organisations’ income and expenditure
- providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
- providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operations
- preparing taxation returns for individuals and organisations
- liaising with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements
- introducing and maintaining accounting systems, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems
- maintaining internal control systems
- may appraise cash flow and financial risk of capital investment projects
Qualification Assessments Criteria
To meet the educational requirements, your qualification with a major in accounting or a related discipline must be rated as comparable in both content and standard to an Australian bachelor’s degree. Your qualification must provide sufficient covering of the core knowledge areas listed below.
- Basic Accounting
- Cost & Management Accounting
- Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Financial Management
- Economics
- Business Law (including Corporate Law)
- Statistics
Employment Assessments
Before applying for a employment assessment, you must first acquire a successful qualification assessment outcome from the accessing authority.
Your employment must meet the following requirements:
- is closely related to the ANZSCO occupation for which you have received a successful skills assessment outcome.
- was undertaken within the last ten years
- was undertaken after you have completed a formal qualification, recognised as equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree
- is paid at market rate and continuous for a minimum of 20 hours per week. Average 20 hours per week over a period of time would not be considered.
- is a minimum of one year of employment in total, for at least three months per role

Documents Requirements

- Passport and passport photo
- Proof of identity, including a national ID or driver’s license
- qualification certificate and academic transcript.
