The following details the qualifications and work experience required for the Aged Care Industry Labour Agreement skills assessment pathway.

Qualification or Work Experience Requirement

There are 2 qualification criteria available, and you must meet at least one of the following:

1- Relevant qualification (AQF Level 3 or higher)

To meet this criterion, you must hold a relevant AQF Certificate III, a higher-level qualification specialising in aged and disability care, or an overseas equivalent qualification that includes a relevant vocational placement and practical training, or

2-Relevant work experience

To fulfil this criterion, if you do not hold a relevant AQF Certificate III qualification, you are required to have at least 12 months of relevant work experience, which may be accepted as a substitute for formal qualifications.

3-Current employment

In addition to the necessary qualifications or work experience, you must demonstrate industry currency. This can be achieved in one of two ways:

  • Your relevant qualification was completed within the last four years; or
  • You have at least 12 months of relevant employment within the past five years.
