The Core Skills Occupation List Version 1.0 Released 2024

On 3 December 2024, the Australian Department of Home Affairs officially released the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL), which comprises 456 occupations. The Core Skills Occupation List will apply to the Subclass 482 Skills in Demand (SID) visa and the Subclass 186 Direct Entry Stream visa on 07 December 2024.

The revised Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) aims to address labour shortages by prioritising occupations that are in high demand in the Australian workforce. This policy is intended to simplify the immigration process for skilled workers, allowing employers to hire essential positions in CSOL occupations more easily.

The CSOL is applicable to the following visas:

The CSOL has 456 occupations.

The table below displays the 456 occupations on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) that will be eligible for the Subclass 482 Skills in Demand Visa and the Subclass 186 Direct Entry Stream Visa.

ANZSCO Skill Level Definitions

The Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) defines ANZSCO Skilled Levels based on educational degrees, formal training, and relevant work experience. The following definitions set the boundaries between ANZSCO skill levels.

Level 1: Bachelor/Master/PhD
Level 2: Diploma/Advance Diploma/Associate Degree
Level 3: Certificate III/IV
Level 4: Certificate II/III 
Level 5: Certificate I
