ICT Business Analyst work with clients and stakeholders to formulate system requirements, develop documentation and system plans, review existing system and to develop and modify systems to meet the needs of the business. They study and analysis the business information requirements and use this data to bridge the gap between IT system and the business and to improve the processes, deliver data-driven solutions that help to achieve business goals and maximize profit. They are a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in the decision-making process.
Responsibilities and Duties
The role of this position typically consists of the tasks, duties, and responsibilities shown in the following accordingly with the Australian Bureau of Statistics ANZSCO 261111:
- working with users to formulate and document business requirements
- identifying, investigating, and analyzing business processes, procedures, and work practices
- identifying and evaluating inefficiencies and recommending optimal business practices, and system functionality and behaviour
- using project management methodologies, principles, and techniques to develop project plans and to cost, resource and manage projects
- taking responsibility for deploying functional solutions, such as creating, adopting, and implementing system test plans, which ensure acceptable quality and integrity of the system
- creating user and training documentation, and conducting formal training classes
- developing functional specifications for use by system developers
- using data and process modelling techniques to create clear system specifications for the design and development of system software
- acting as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in the system project decision making process
Qualifications Required for ICT Business Analyst – Skill Level 1
To become an ICT Business Analyst, you require a bachelor’s degree in the IT or related field. A bachelor degree Skill Level 1 in the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF), refer to the list shown below:
