Job description
Prepares detailed drawings and plans of mechanical engineering work in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists.

Tasks Include:
- preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
- assisting Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design of mechanical equipment and plant
- selecting tools and equipment
- assembling and installing new and modified mechanical assemblies, components, machine tools and controls, and hydraulic power systems
- estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
- performing and directing field and laboratory tests
- collecting and analysing data, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams
- organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
- ensuring that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions

- Passport and passport photo
- Proof of identity, including a national ID or driver’s license
- Current CV/Resume
- English proficiency test result (IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE)
- Qualification certificate and academic transcript.
- Employment evidence, including an employment letter, payslips, tax return and superannuation.
Please note that if any of your required documents are not written in English, you will also need to submit the original document with an official translation into English from accredited translators.
Processing Time
Standard assessment applications typically take eight to twelve weeks from the date you submit and pay for the application to Engineers Australia. The time it takes to complete is determined by how quickly Engineers Australia receives all relevant documents and any additional information from you. Making sure you've provided all of the relevant papers in the proper format will assist reduce the amount of time it takes to process them.
What will I get after the assessment?
When your application for a skills assessment is complete, the Engineers Australia, the assessing authority will provide a migration skills assessment outcome letter. You will need this letter to apply for your visa.
