Job description
Plans, organises, directs, controls and coordinates the human resource and workplace relations activities within an organisation.

Job Duties
Highly relevant tasks include, but are not limited to:
- advising and assisting other Managers in applying sound recruitment and selection practices, and appropriate induction, training and development programs
- developing and implementing performance management systems to plan, appraise and improve individual and team performance
- representing the organisation in negotiations with unions and employees to determine remuneration and other conditions of employment
- developing and implementing occupational health and safety programs and equal employment opportunity programs, and ensuring compliance with related statutory requirements
- overseeing the application of redundancy and other employee retrenchment policies
- monitoring employment costs and productivity levels
- may train and advise other Managers in personnel and workplace relations matters
Skills Assessment Criteria
Pathway 1
Where an applicant holds a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree comparable to an equivalent AQF qualification, the applicant must have demonstrated employment experience:
- in an HR-related role for at least three years; and
- in the role as HR Manager for at least two out of these three years.
Pathway 2
Where the applicant does not hold a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree comparable to an equivalent AQF qualification, the applicant must have demonstrated employment experience
- in an HR-related role for at least five years;
- in the role as HR Manager for at least two out of these five years.

- Passport and passport photo
- Proof of identity, including a national ID or driver’s license
- qualification certificate and academic transcript.
- employment evidence, including an employment letter, payslips, tax return and superannuation.

What will I get after the assessment?
When your application for a skills assessment is done, the assessing authority will send you an email with a soft copy of the skills assessment outcome letter.
The letter should contain the required skill level outcome, whether your qualification is assessed as comparable to the education level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) or not. Furthermore, it outlines the employment period that you have claimed and whether the evidence that you provided is met or not. If you meet both the qualifications and employment criteria for the skill assessment, you will get a positive result. If you don't, you will get an unsuccessful result.
