Job description
Electrical Engineers design, develops and supervises the manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of equipment, machines and systems for the generation, distribution, utilisation and control of electric power. Registration or licensing may be required.
Specialisations:

- Signalling and Communications Engineer
Tasks Include:
- planning and designing power stations and power generation equipment
- determining the type and arrangement of circuits, transformers, circuit-breakers, transmission lines and other equipment
- developing products such as electric motors, components, equipment and appliances
- interpreting specifications, drawings, standards and regulations relating to electric power equipment and use
- organising and managing resources used in the supply of electrical components, machines, appliances and equipment
- establishing delivery and installation schedules for machines, switchgear, cables and fittings
- supervising the operation and maintenance of power stations, transmission and distribution systems and industrial plants
- designing and installing control and signalling equipment for road, rail and air traffic
- may specialise in research in areas such as power generation and transmission systems, transformers, switchgear and electric motors, telemetry and control systems

- Passport and passport photo
- Proof of identity, including a national ID or driver’s license
- Current CV/Resume
- English proficiency test result (IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE)
- Qualification certificate and academic transcript.
- Employment evidence, including an employment letter, payslips, tax return and superannuation.
Please note that if any of your required documents are not written in English, you will also need to submit the original document with an official translation into English from accredited translators.
Processing Time
Standard assessment applications typically take eight to twelve weeks from the date you submit and pay for the application to Engineers Australia. The time it takes to complete is determined by how quickly Engineers Australia receives all relevant documents and any additional information from you. Making sure you've provided all of the relevant papers in the proper format will assist reduce the amount of time it takes to process them.
What will I get after the assessment?
When your application for a skills assessment is complete, the Engineers Australia, the assessing authority will provide a migration skills assessment outcome letter. You will need this letter to apply for your visa.
