If you are a lift mechanic wanting to migrate to Australia under the occupation ANZSCO 341113: Lift Mechanic via a migration skill assessment visa such as visa 491, visa 190, or visa 189, you must complete the compulsory skill assessment. Job description
A lift mechanic Designs, installs, maintains, services and repairs electric and hydraulic passenger and freight lifts, escalators, moving walkways and other lift equipment. Registration or licensing is required.
Tasks Include:
- examining blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation.
- measuring and laying out installation reference points
- selecting, cutting, and connecting wire and cable to terminals and connectors
- using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults.
- repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts
- positioning and installing electrical switchboards.
- connecting electrical systems to power supply
- testing continuity of circuit
- installing, testing, and adjusting electric and mechanical parts of lifts
- installing, testing, and commissioning solar photo voltaic (PV) power generation systems

You are required to demonstrate 3 years of full-time (as 38 hours per week) or equivalent part-time paid employment. This employment must be directly relevant to your nominated occupation and can be completed before, during or after your comparable qualification.

What will I get after the assessment?
When your application for a skills assessment is complete, Trades Recognition Australia, the assessing authority will provide a migration skills assessment outcome letter. You will need this letter to apply for your visa.
