On the 2 September 2020, the Department of Home Affairs introduced a Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL), which contain 44 occupations as of 27/07/2021. The purpose PMSOL is to fill critical skills needs to support Australia’s economic recovery from COVID-19 targeting occupations in the Health Care, Construction, and IT sectors. The PMSOL is temporary and priority occupations may change as Australia recovers from the pandemic.

The employer who intent to sponsor applicant in the PMSOL occupations list will be given priority processing for both nomination and visa applications in the following visa types:

Level 1: Bachelor/Higher, Level 2: Diploma/Higher, Level 3: Cert III*/IV, Level 4: Cert II*/III

2 September 2020:  17 occupations introduced to PMSOL

Travel Exemption

Visa holders outside Australia, who have been sponsored by an Australia business in a PMSOL occupation list, can be able to request an exemption from Australia’s travel restrictions, for more travel exemption visit DHA website
